In Mexico’s submission to the 2026 Academy Awards, viewers follow Socorro (Luisa Huertas), a retired lawyer consumed with finding the soldier who killed her brother during the 1968 student protests in Mexico City’s Tlatelolco Square. Nearly six decades later, her relentless pursuit has fractured her relationships with her sister and her son. When a new clue emerges, Socorro begins a perilous quest for vengeance, putting her family and her own life in jeopardy.
