Food, culture, and history come together in the documentary Truly Texas Mexican. Chef, filmmaker, and author Adán Medrano weaves through Texas communities, meeting with cooks, sharing their meals, and honoring traditions. Author Chon Noriega praised the film as “soulful … the kind of story missing from all the culinary documentaries and series out there.”

Copies of the book Truly Texas Mexican: A Native Culinary Heritage in Recipes are available through the MFA Shop and at the screening on Saturday, February 19.
