Followed by a Q&A with actress Birgit Minichmayr, moderated by Michael D. Robinson

France’s most iconic actress, Isabelle Huppert, takes on a role she was born to play: a meticulous blood-sucking vampire. After the titular Blood Countess awakes from a decades long slumber, she reunites with her devoted maid (Birgit Minichmayr) to venture across Vienna in search for the red elixir of life. Including a wild cast of characters such as a vegetarian nephew, vampirologists, and a psychotherapist, The Blood Countess brings prolific director Ulrike Ottinger’s maximalist style into a deadpan comedy.
