Immerse yourself in classical music surrounded by works of art from the famed Berggruen collection. Louis-Marie Fardet, cellist at the Houston Symphony, is accompanied by pianist Olena Blahulyak as they perform a program featuring Debussy, Poulenc, Ravel, Sati, Stravinsky, and other French composers of the early 20th century. This program complements the exhibition Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen.

About the Performers
Louis-Marie Fardet was appointed cellist with the Houston Symphony in 2015. Previously, he served as assistant principal cellist for the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet. Prior to moving to Houston, he was a tenured member of L’Opéra de Paris Orchestra.

Olena Blahulyak is a Houston-based pianist who is originally from Ukraine. She earned her DMA from the University of Houston in 2024. Blahulyak has won numerous international competitions, is a sought-after guest across Western Europe and the United States, and maintains a private studio as a Kawai Medallion Educator.
