The MFAH teams up with the organization Han Narea to celebrate the Arts of Korea Gallery. Live music and dance performances include a traditional Korean dance by the group Samulnori Newdot from Seoul, South Korea. They perform Samulnori, a music style with links to traditional village and farming celebrations that uses percussion instruments made of wood, leather, and metal. The musicians connect with modern audiences by reinterpreting traditions from a contemporary perspective.
During the intermission, enjoy a tour of the gallery with Bradley Bailey, the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Curator of Asian art.

- A Happy Hour, with traditional Korean light bites, begins before the concert at 5 p.m. on Level 1 of the Law Building.

About the Performers
Han Narea is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting traditional Korean culture through classes, workshops, and performances in South Texas.
Samulnori Newdot, committed to preserving the music’s relevance, has created unique music that explores various rhythms across South Korea.
