Indian textile expert Rosemary Crill speaks about the Kashmir shawl, one of the most prized woven objects ever produced. Renowned for their extremely fine fibers and painstaking production process, Kashmir shawls have been luxury items for centuries. Crill illuminates the global history of these shawls, from their development in Mughal India, to the changes that arose with European demand, and the later revival in India.

The exhibition From Persia to Paisley: Global Luxury and the Kashmir Shawl illustrates how a single textile transformed global fashion, fueled industrial innovation, and shaped collecting tastes across Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.
