Fútbol season comes to the MFAH. As part of the Monday Night Fútbol (MNF) series, artist Betirri introduces screenings of two World Cup documentaries with a brief talk about the intersection of art and sports. Betirri creates a cultural dialogue between these two forces as he discusses the relevancy of Houston as a host of this international cultural event.
- February 12 | Two Billion Hearts, about Brazil vs. Italy in the 1994 World Cup
- March 19 | Seven Games from Glory, about Japan vs. Korea in the 2002 World Cup
Wear your favorite team jersey as you learn more about past World Cup games and the history of the beautiful game.
This edition of MNF screens on Thursday evenings, when admission to the MFAH Permanent Collections is free.

About the Speaker
Betirri is a Mexico-born, Houston-based visual artist whose work explores football as a universal language connecting culture, memory, and identity. With a background in architecture and painting, he merges sport, art, and public space, using iconic football imagery to spark dialogue beyond the game. Betirri has collaborated with international brands, cultural institutions, and major sporting organizations, and his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
