Frida as Influencer: Teaching with Vision, Voice, and Purpose
Discover the power of Frida Kahlo’s legacy in this dynamic professional development experience designed for non-art educators. Explore the exhibition Frida: The Making of an Icon, featuring works by the legendary Mexican artist and the many she inspired, along with related objects from the MFAH permanent collection.
Through hands-on activities and inquiry-based strategies, educators explore methods to develop higher-order thinking skills with their—observing, analyzing, synthesizing, and communicating ideas—by making connections between visual art and core curriculum subjects. Be inspired by Kahlo’s story and discover how her vision and voice can spark meaningful learning across disciplines.
- This workshop is open to all K–12 non-art educators
