Location Bayou Bend | Rienzi

This event is canceled because of anticipated inclement weather. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Visit the two MFAH house museums—Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens and Rienzi—for an afternoon of free, family-friendly programs that connect myths, folklore, and American & European history through storytelling, music, activities, and demonstrations.

At Bayou Bend, visit with experts on the origins and legends of baseball; explore Native American legends; hear the story and background behind the poem “Paul Revere’s Ride”; learn to lasso with a cowboy; and more. At Rienzi, search for all of the mythological figures hiding throughout the house; learn more about Greek and Roman heroes and myths; and go home with your own mythological creation.

Family Days are always free and open to the public. Park at Bayou Bend and take the complimentary shuttle between locations!
