(Fabian oder Der Gang vor die Hunde)
Directed by Dominik Graf
(Germany, 2021, Digital, in German with English subtitles)
Set amid the twilight hedonism of pre-Nazi Germany, the dazzling Fabian: Going to the Dogs follows ad man Jakob Fabian, who works for a cigarette factory by day and drifts through Berlin’s bars and brothels by night. Not long after falling in love with an aspiring actress, Fabian becomes part of the great wave of layoffs sweeping the city, as all of Germany is about to self-destruct.
