Aaron Parazette arrived in Houston in 1990 to join the Glassell School of Art’s Core Residency Program, and the two-year tenure became a lifetime commitment to the city. To mark the publication of a new monograph exploring his work, Parazette sits down with MFAH curator Alison de Lima Greene to discuss the arc of his career, from his Southern California origins to his present-day paintings. Starting the conversation is his first statement in a Core catalogue: “Perhaps this can be turned into something of interest.” A book signing follows.
