In December 2025, after a months-long sold-out tour with his band Geese, Cameron Winter returned to New York to play a single solo concert at Carnegie Hall. This is the movie.

 

Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall was directed and shot on 35mm and 16mm by Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another). The crew included actor/filmmaker Benny Safdie (The Smashing Machine) and music producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Grammy winner for albums with Vampire Weekend and Adele).

 

GQ praised the show at Carnegie Hall as “staggeringly good,” and musician Nick Cave has described Winter as having “a glorious, emotive voice with brilliant, blistering words, a racked and wondrous thing.” Winter’s solo album Heavy Metal, released in late 2024, was named one of the best of the year by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Paste, and Mojo. Geese’s latest record, Getting Killed, was named the best album of 2025 by The New Yorker, NME, and Stereogum.
