Art Workshop | Ritual Light: Making Shabbat Candlesticks from Found Objects
Presented in conjunction with “Beauty and Ritual: Judaica from the Jewish Museum, New York”
Make your own Shabbat candlesticks in this workshop. First, Houston artist Ellen Orseck leads a discussion in the galleries of the exhibition Beauty and Ritual: Judaica from the Jewish Museum, New York. In the art-making workshop that follows, create one-of-a-kind Shabbat candlesticks using found objects of wood, stone, and glass. No previous art experience necessary.
Plan Your Visit
This workshop and entry to the exhibition are included with general admission. Space in the workshop is limited, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Art-making supplies are provided.
Both the exhibition and the workshop are located on the lower level of the Beck Building. On Sundays, the Museum is open from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
