LATE FRIDAYS: MUSIC IN THE GALLERIES
Music and the visual arts harmonize at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
Join Reginald Smith Jr. for an evening of song, accompanied by pianist Mary Box and surrounded by European paintings and sculptures from the 13th century to the early 20th century.
Music in the Galleries is a monthly series that brings Houston’s renowned music ensembles and solo performers into the Museum’s immersive gallery spaces. Looking for more to do during Late Friday? Enjoy a drink at Happy Hour Friday or join a guided tour of the galleries.

About the Performers
Operatic baritone Reginald Smith Jr. is a Grammy and Emmy Award winner who has been lauded as a "passionate performer" (New York Times) with a voice that is "electric, hall-filling" (Baltimore Sun), making him "one of the most exciting baritone sounds to come along in years" (Opera News). He has performed with leading companies worldwide.
Mary Box is a conductor and pianist who has been involved in over 50 opera productions across the United States. She has conducted the Houston Women's Chamber Orchestra and Opera in the Heights, among others, and is the founder and executive director of Montrose Project, a nonprofit organization devoted to celebrating works by female composers.
