Back by popular demand, this award-winning documentary profiles Texas artist Kermit Oliver (born in Refugio in 1943), an alumnus of Texas Southern University. Mentored by artist John Biggers, Oliver created a remarkable body of work including paintings, works on paper, designs for Hermès silk scarves, and commissions. For much of his career, Oliver worked full time as a postman. Director Chris Charles Scott vividly chronicles Oliver’s journey in A Portrait of a Postman, which features commentary by family, colleagues, and others.
