In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Rienzi invites you to visit for a free afternoon inspired by Hispanic and Latino history and culture. Enjoy art activities, tours, and musical performances. Explore the galleries and discover all the rich historical and artistic influences.

  • 2–3 pm | Flute performance by Yansa Samada Valdés
  • 3–4 pm | Guided tour in Spanish
  • 4–5 pm | Violin performance by Brenda Rengel
This Family Day is presented in collaboration with ALMAAHH (Advocates of a Latino Museum of Cultural and Visual Arts & Archive Complex in Houston).

About the Performers
Violinist Brenda Rengel earned a degree in music with a specialization in violin performance as a symphonic soloist from the Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes in Caracas. She also studied at the Emil Friedman School and Conservatory of Music. Among her honors are a Latin Grammy Award nomination in 2020 for the album Soy Puro Teatro: Homenaje a La Lupe, as well as national and international recognition for performances and recordings.
 
Yansa Samada Valdés is a Cuban flautist, vocalist, and Latin jazz artist based in Houston. A graduate of the Amadeo Roldán Classical Music Conservatory in Havana, she blends the rich traditions of Cuban music with the improvisational spirit of jazz. Her performances fuse Latin, jazz, soul, and contemporary influences. Valdés has performed internationally and has appeared at cultural events and venues throughout Texas.
