The annual exhibition Eye on Houston: High School Documentary Photography is a collaboration between the Museum and area high schools to document and celebrate the diversity of Houston’s neighborhoods.
Eye on Houston invites students to offer a glimpse into their daily lives, experiences, and personal stories. This year, the 21st annual presentation expands to include a greater number of Houston communities. These neighborhoods are showcased through images by students from Bellaire, Cesar E. Chavez, Jack Yates, Sam Houston, and Westside high schools, along with students from HISD's Through the Lens, a district-wide afterschool program that focuses on photography as a profession. The 67 photographs on view in the exhibition represent the work of 37 junior and senior students.
This exhibition receives generous funding from the CFP Foundation; Texas Commission on the Arts; and the Junior League of Houston, Inc.
