Halla is a passionate environmental activist who secretly wages war on the local aluminum industry threatening Iceland’s highlands. Āsa is her New Age twin sister (both played by Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir, from the TV series Trapped). As Halla’s actions grow bolder, she succeeds in pausing the negotiations between the government and the corporation building a new aluminum smelter. However, when her application to adopt a child is accepted, she prepares to abandon her role as saboteur to fulfill her dream of motherhood. This highly original drama exemplifies the robust filmmaking scene in Scandinavia.
