Presented by writer/director Anne Alix

Having lost her husband and job, Irma jumps into an Avignon river, only to be rescued and befriended by Dolores, a free-spirited Spaniard researching a gay-friendly travel guide in the South of France. Something Is Happening follows the duo as they embark on an ultimately life-changing adventure that reveals Provence beyond the lavender fields, reflecting the evolving population, portrayed by nonprofessional actors.

“The most exquisite natural landscapes are trespassed by huge wind farms and imperious steel transmission towers. These juxtapositions create an atmosphere as fascinating as it is unnerving, transforming the scene before our eyes into a kind of physical and spiritual portrait of place.” —
