ROCO’s Connections series presents a modern twist on a Schubertiade salon concert in the ballroom at Rienzi. The evening features the world premiere of songs by ROCO composer-in-residence Derek Bermel and author Sandra Cisneros, based on her novel The House on Mango Street.
Highlights include “A House of My Own” from the opera The House on Mango Street as well as chamber pieces by Claude Debussy and Franz Schubert. Mezzo-soprano Cecilia Duarte is joined by Ana María Otamendi on piano and Jesús Pacheco Mánuel on percussion.
Following a reception at 5 p.m. the concert begins at 6 p.m. Complimentary valet parking is available.
