Virtual Program “Poetas en Casa (Poets at Home)”


Casa Cultural de las Américas and the MFAH present the 8th annual International Literature Festival: Poetas en Casa (Poets at Home). 

Poetas en Casa is the title of a new anthology of poems by 20 of the poets who have been part of the International Literature Festivals to date.

Welcoming remarks from Mari Carmen Ramírez, the Wortham Curator of Latin American Art at the MFAH, are followed by an introduction from Mexican poet Luis Armenta-Malpica, editor of the Poetas en Casa anthology. Spanish poet Jordi Virallonga-Eguren reads selected poems, and students from Katy-Westpark High School and Windmill Lakes-Orem High School also read a few.

About the Program
Casa Cultural de las Américas brings acclaimed writers and poets from Spanish-speaking countries to Houston for the annual International Literature Festival, with a focus on contemporary literature written in Spanish. Mario Vargas Llosa, winner of the 2010 Nobel Prize in literature, was a guest in 2015.
