Members Tour “Shooting the Moon: Photographs from the Museum’s Collection 50 Years after Apollo 11”
Saturday, August 24, 2019:
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo II moon landing on July 20, 1969, the MFAH presents Shooting the Moon, an exhibition featuring moon-related photographs drawn from the Museum’s collection.
MFAH members are invited to sign up for this tour that explores the gallery and encourages everyone to discuss the art together. Works on view range from NASA images of the mission itself, to iconic photographs by artists including Ansel Adams and Garry Winogrand, to fanciful pictures such as a 19th-century portrait of a man in a costume adorned with the sun, moon, and stars.
