• Presented by James Anno, associate curator of European art
MFAH members are invited to enjoy an overview of Glory of Spain: Treasures from the Hispanic Society Museum & Library. The international traveling exhibition showcases more than 4,000 years of Hispanic art and culture from the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in New York.
Unparalleled outside of Spain, the collections include paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, maps, textiles, porcelains, jewelry, and more. The presentation highlights themes from antiquity and medieval Spain to “Golden Age” Spain, 19th-century Latin America, and beyond. Francisco de Goya y Lucientes, El Greco, and Diego Velázquez are just a few of the artists represented.
Exclusive to MFAH members. Not a member? Join today!
This lecture is offered twice: 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. You may guarantee your seat by purchasing a ticket in advance for $5.
