M.C. Escher: Journey to Infinity

Directed by Robin Lutz
(The Netherlands, 2019, digital, in English, Dutch, Italian, and German with English subtitles)
Presented during the closing weekend of the exhibition Virtual Realities: The Art of M. C. Escher from the Michael S. Sachs Collection

Journey to Infinity looks at the legacy of world-famous Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher. Equal parts history, psychology, and psychedelia, this entertaining, eye-opening portrait shows the man through diary musings, lectures, interviews, and correspondence, with narration by British actor Stephen Fry. Among the many highlights: Musician Graham Nash (Crosby, Stills & Nash) discusses Escher’s rediscovery in the 1970s.
