“Fast-paced and hugely entertaining” —Vulture.com

Lucien (Benjamin Voisin), an idealistic young poet in 19th-century France, leaves his provincial town for Paris on the arm of his admirer (Cécile de France). When a writer (Vincent Lacoste) introduces Lucien to the business of journalism, where wordsmiths make or break the reputations of actors and artists with insouciant impunity, Lucien discovers that the written word can be an instrument of both beauty and deceit. A sumptuous adaptation of Honoré de Balzac’s epic novel, Lost Illusions earned seven César Awards (French Oscars).
