Hold Me Tight (Serre-moi fort)

Hold Me Tight (Serre-moi fort)

Directed by Mathieu Amalric
(France, 2021, digital, in French and German with English subtitles)

Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread) gives a riveting performance as Clarisse, a woman on the run from her family for reasons that aren’t immediately clear. This portrait of a woman in crisis alternates between Clarisse’s adventures on the road and scenes of her husband (Arieh Worthalter) struggling to take care of their children. Hold Me Tight keeps you uncertain about the reality of what you’re seeing until the final moments of the moving, unpredictable family drama.
