Join Rienzi and Bayou Bend for good books and great conversations! The History Book Club features discussions about lifestyles and culture in America and Europe in the 1700s and 1800s, led by Museum staff.

Meet up at Bayou Bend with other book lovers to discuss Eric Foner’s Gateway to Freedom: The Hidden History of the Underground Railroad. New evidence elevates the history of the Underground Railroad, the network of both black and white activists who smuggled slaves to freedom at the risk of their own lives and liberty.

Drop in! This program is free.
