Out-of-work showgirls Joan Blondell, Ruby Keeler, and Ginger Rogers team up with songwriter Dick Powell to put on a Depression-proof Broadway show. The greatest of all Pre-Code musicals, Gold Diggers of 1933 shines with sparkling dialogue and lavish, eye-popping production numbers by the great Busby Berkeley, including the downright smutty number “Pettin’ in the Park.”
