Widely considered Britain’s most popular artist, David Hockney (born 1937) is a global sensation. His exhibitions in London, New York, Paris, and beyond have attracted millions of visitors. Even in his ninth decade, Hockney shows no evidence of slowing down or losing his trademark boldness.

Featuring intimate and in-depth interviews with the artist, this revealing film focuses on blockbuster exhibitions held in 2012 and 2016 at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Director Phil Grabsky secured privileged access to craft a cinematic celebration of a 21st-century master of creativity.

Following the August 25 screening, stick around for a concert of South American music performed by Aperio, Music of the Americas. The performance is free with Museum admission!
