In the ongoing “Conversations with the Director” series, Gary Tinterow, director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, engages an eclectic roster of guests in one-on-one conversations about the arts.

This evening, author William Middleton joins Tinterow for a discussion about Double Vision: The Unerring Eye of Art World Avatars Dominique and John de Menil, Middleton’s new biography of celebrated collectors Dominique and John de Menil. The conversation highlights the couple’s decades-long involvement with the MFAH.

Middleton is a journalist and editor who has worked in New York and Paris. He has been the fashion features director for Harper's Bazaar and the Paris bureau chief for Fairchild Publications, overseeing W Magazine and Women’s Wear Daily. He has written for the New York Times, New York Times Magazine, Vogue, House & Garden, Esquire, Texas Monthly, Travel & Leisure, Departures, and the International Herald Tribune.

A book signing and reception follow the program, at 7:30 p.m. Copies of Double Vision are on sale before and after the talk. A small number of signed copies are going to be available in the MFA Shop: Call 713.639.7360 to reserve yours!
