Afrooz (Baran Kosari, I’m Not Angry!) is the captain of the women’s national futsal team in Iran, and her long-sought dream of playing in the Asian Nations Cup has come true after years of hard work. As she and her team prepare to fly to Malaysia for the final, Afrooz learns that her estranged TV-host husband has banned her from leaving the country. Cold Sweat, an inspiring drama from director Soheil Beiraghi (I/Me), showcases the fight for female civil rights, hints at a same-sex partnership, and portrays the humiliation that submission often brings—all while offering a message of self-preservation and optimism.
