Cézanne: Portraits is one of the most talked-about exhibitions of 2017 and 2018. Dedicated to the portrait work of Paul Cézanne, the tour opened in Paris before traveling to London and then concluding in Washington, DC.

One can’t appreciate 20th-century art without understanding the significance and genius of Cézanne. This film features interviews with curators and experts from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the National Portrait Gallery in London, MoMA in New York, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, as well as correspondence from the artist himself.

Go beyond the exhibition to the places Cézanne lived and worked. Cézanne: Portraits of a Life sheds new light on an artist whose life is perhaps one of the least understood among artists of the Impressionist era—until now.

Following the July 28 screening, stick around for a gallery concert of music performed by harpist Susanna Campbell. The performance is free with Museum admission!
