Festival of Films from Iran

Botox
Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri
(Iran, 2020, Digital, in Farsi with English subtitles)

Botox follows the story of two sisters, one of whom works in a beauty salon. When their brother disappears, they claim he has left Iran for Germany with a smuggler. Over time, the lie takes on a life of its own, leading to dark and mysterious places. Botox won the award for Best Feature Film at Italy’s Torino Film Festival in 2020.
