Presented by photographer Langston Hues and “Houston Chronicle” fashion editor Joy Sewing

Exploring the relationship between personal style and spirituality in the age of social media, Langston Hues photographs young, stylish, modestly dressed women around the world for his project Modest Street Fashion. Sometimes referred to as “Hijabistas” or “Turbanistas,” the women share their distinct style with the world through blogs, Instagram, and other social platforms.

Hues, whose work is featured in the exhibition Icons of Style: A Century of Fashion Photography, visits Houston for this talk with Houston Chronicle fashion editor Joy Sewing.

A book signing follows.
