Art + Wine “Cheers! The British Taste for Wine”
This program complements the exhibition Houghton Hall: Portrait of an English Country House.
Imagine hosting a fine dinner at an English country house. What drinks would be served to your guests before, during, or after dinner? Perhaps sherry, French claret, German Hoch . . . or something else? Learn more about the British taste for wine in this program.
Art + Wine begins with a brief overview of the exhibition Houghton Hall: Portrait of a Country House by Christine Gervais, organizing curator, followed by an interactive presentation and tasting led by Benjamin Roberts, notable wine educator and Advanced Sommelier.
• Meet in the American General Conference room on the mezzanine level of the Audrey Jones Beck Building.
• Doors open at 6 p.m. Please bring your ticket or confirmation form.
• Each Art + Wine program is limited to 48 participants and includes a presentation, wine instruction and samples, cheese and crackers (limited supply), and bottled water.

About Benjamin Roberts
Currently an educator with Republic National Distributor, and formerly director of marketing and wine sales at Masraff’s, Roberts is a cofounder of the Houston Sommelier Association. He earned the prestigious distinction of Advanced Sommelier in the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2013 and is now a Master Sommelier candidate.
