Art + Poetry: A Walkabout Literary Experience
Please note that weather has moved this event indoors, to the Glassell School of Art’s main lobby!
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind literary event! The MFAH and Tintero Projects host five notable Houston poets and writers inspired by the art of the Cullen Sculpture Garden.
Join in a “walkabout” reading, and experience the sculpture garden’s art in a new way: through the words of some of Houston’s most exciting writers. Traverse the space as each writer reads or performs a literary work inspired by one of the many sculptures.
Participating writers and their art inspirations:
- Kevin Chavez, Conversation with the Wind
- Ayokunle Falomo, Exhaling Pearls
- Cristina Martinez, New Forms
- Jonathan Moody, Decanter
- Dulcie Veluthukaran, Back I–Back IV
Arrive a little early to enjoy drinks, food-truck bites, and music! Stop by Happy Hour Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
