Art Encounters | Carve, Cut, Rework with Inspiration from M.C. Escher

Looking for a new art experience? Drop-in “Art Encounters” programs, led by artists and inspired by art on view at the Museum, focus on creating community. The way you participate is up to you! Take an active role, or simply observe. Admission is free.

At this Art Encounters session, join in creating a collaborative series of mixed-media prints with artist Rebecca Braziel in conjunction with Virtual Realities: The Art of M.C. Escher from the Michael S. Sachs Collection.

Both artists—Braziel and Escher—share a fascination with nature. Use leaves as a starting point to carve, cut, and draw on paper, resulting in a collaborative series. The ephemeral experience ends with prints being torn into shreds for Braziel’s paper-making practice.
