Set in contemporary Israel, A Quiet Heart is a psychological thriller about the dangers of intolerance and the clash between conservative and liberal Israelis. Concert pianist Naomi (Ania Bukstein, Game of Thrones), a secular Jew, experiences a personal crisis and moves from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Most of her new neighbors are ultra-Orthodox and view her with contempt. Naomi tries to keep to herself, but she does find a few new friends, including a monk who gives her pipe-organ lessons. Along the way, Naomi uncovers mysteries about her apartment’s previous tenant.
This compelling film received the Grand Prize and Best Actress awards at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, as well as the Best Screenplay award at the Haifa International Film Festival.
