Many works from his collection were bequeathed to the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester. (2) A.G. Turner was a Liverpool-born shipping magnet, who also owned Turner’s iconic view of Leeds (Yale Center for British Art, New Haven). Its traditional title was A Bend on a River.
