Isamu Noguchi: A Sculpture for Sculpture

By Alison Greene, with texts by Valerie J. Fletcher and Marc Treib. Photography by Rocky Kneten

Commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden at the MFAH, the book contains two essays by leading experts on Isamu Noguchi and landscape architecture that illuminate the history of the garden and its creator, as well as new scholarly catalogue entries on all 23 of the sculptures featured within this remarkable one-acre site. The book also includes interviews about the roles of conservation and horticulture in the garden’s evolution, and an illustrated time line of the garden’s fascinating past.

Published by the MFAH. 2006. 167 pages. $45.00.
