Doodle 4 Google

About

Doodle 4 Google is a competition open to K–12 students of U.S. schools to create their own Google doodle. Google hosts this program each year to encourage and celebrate the creativity of young people.

This year's theme is "If I could travel in time, I'd visit..." Students take a blank canvas to harness their curiosity and imagine the past, present, and/or future anywhere in the world. Doodles must be postmarked by March 20. Click here for a full list of rules and regulations.

National Winner Prizes (one recipient)
• Winning doodle featured on google.com U.S. for the entire day on May 18, 2012
• Winning doodle exhibited in the New York Public Library
• A $30,000 college scholarship
• A $50,000 technology grant for the winner's school
• A Google Chromebook
• A Wacom digital design tablet
• A T-shirt with the winning doodle on it
• An all-expenses-paid trip to New York City on May 17, 2012, including a visit to Google NYC


How to Enter

There are several easy ways to enter your doodle for a chance to win.

Step One
Download a submission form here, or pick one up in the Kinder Foundation Education Center (KFEC) on the lower level of the museum's Law Building.

Step Two
Create your one-of-a-kind doodle around the topic "If I could travel in time, I'd visit..."

Step Three

Submit your doodle! Two options:

  • Turn in your doodle to the KFEC. All doodles being submitted to the KFEC must be received by 12 noon on Friday, March 16.
  • Mail your doodle to Google:

Doodles are due on March 23, 2012 and must be postmarked no later than March 20, 2012.

All submissions should be sent to the P.O. Box (regular mail) or courier service address (e.g., UPS or FedEx, etc.) listed above. Please note that you cannot submit artwork via courier service to the P.O. Box. If you use USPS, you must use the top address. If you use a courier service, you must use the bottom address.

When may I drop off my art to the Kinder Foundation Education Center in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston?
Monday–Wednesday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Thursday–Saturday: 10 a.m.–9 p.m.
Sunday: 12:15–7 p.m.

Where is the Kinder Foundation Education Center located?
The Kinder Foundation Education Center is located on the lower level of the Caroline Wiess Law Building.

What age groups are eligible to enter?
K–12 students in U.S. schools (including homeschoolers).

Do I have to pay admission to pick up or drop off entry?
No, for entry form pick up and drop off you do not have to pay. Please visit any admissions desk in the museum lobbies and inform the attendant that you are going to pick up/drop off a Doodle 4 Google entry form.
