Oscar winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker star as Stella and Dot, an elderly lesbian couple whose peaceful life is disrupted when Dot’s manipulative granddaughter connives her to sign over power of attorney, granting Molly the right to move Dot into a nursing home. With nothing to lose, Stella abducts Dot with a plan to drive to Canada where the two can be legally wed. Along the way, the two women pick up Prentice, a sexy young drifter who’s own search for family unites these three rebellious spirits in this uplifting road movie from the award-winning director of Beefcake and The Event.
