Media Archeology´s headline event is a spectacular performance collaboration between the Joshua Light Show, featuring Joshua White, and musical artist, Silver Apples. An early pioneer of "liquid light" shows, multimedia artist Joshua White is best known for his artistry of the 1960s at the famous New York venue Fillmore East, where he created a psychedelic visual environment using light, liquid, and colored projections for Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, and Jimi Hendrix. While his improvised light shows were an integral part of the entertainment, his show has been updated for the digital age as media artist Bec Stupak adds video mixing software into the show.
Electronic music pioneers Silver Apples, currently the solo project of Simeon Coxe, performs a re-creation of his infamous Mune Toon concert in 1969. This event was part of the official celebration of the moon landing that took place in Central Park in July of 1969. At the moment that Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the moon, Simeon and original drummer Danny Taylor burst into a free-form-rock electronic instrumental that was scheduled for only 16.8 minutes, but actually went well into the morning.
