Midnight Movie

A heavenly muse (Olivia Newton-John) is sent to Earth to help open a roller disco. Gene Kelly and Michael Beck costar as men of different eras both in love with her. Xanadu combines the swinging tunes of the 1940s with the glitter-ball disco music of the 1970s and the approaching New Wave. The soundtrack is loaded with songs by Newton-John ("Magic") and the Electric Light Orchestra.

"Xanadu [offers] a sort of berserk, sunny innocence that no longer exists and didn´t really exist back then, save in movies, hit songs, and television variety shows." —www.leisuresuit.net
