Core Artist-in-Residence Program
The Core Artist-in-Residence Program is a postgraduate fellowship that invites eight artists to participate in a nine-month residency, which is renewable for a second year. Two individuals involved in critical writing or curating art exhibitions are offered the same opportunity through the Core Critical Studies Program. The artists are given studios in the Glassell School building and receive a stipend and access to school facilities, as well to the Hirsch Library.

Core artists also participate in a seminar that includes lectures and critiques by internationally distinguished artists, critics, and curators. Held in the Eleanor and Frank Freed Auditorium, these lectures are open to the public.
The Core Program energizes the museum and the school by supporting the experimental edge of artistic practice. Each March, the program culminates in an exhibition of work by Core artists and an accompanying catalogue with essays by critical studies residents.
