Experience the traditions of tea at the MFAH! These afternoon events celebrate of the exhibition Unrivalled Splendor: The Kimiko and John Powers Collection of Japanese Art with a ceremony of the Japanese “way of tea.” Each event is accompanied by an assortment of beverages as well as savory and sweet treats.

Each seating for tea service requires a ticket and is paired with a 20-minute, docent-led highlights tour of the exhibition, available starting every half hour from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The tea service is led by the only Certified Tea Master in Texas: Thia McKann from Houston’s The Path of Tea, exclusive tea partner for these events.

All guests participating in Tuesday Tea + Tour are asked to arrive at 3 p.m. Depending on the seating reservation, tea service will either precede or follow viewing of the exhibition and the spotlight tour. To make a reservation over the phone, please call 713.639.7771.
