Every Sunday is ArtTime/FamilyTime at the MFAH. This month’s Family Zone & Studio activities are inspired by artist Lee Krasner’s painting Blue and Black.

Sunday Storytime Make connections between Krasner’s painting and the imaginative storybook One by Kathryn Otoshi. Dive into a world where colors have personalities and feelings, and where it’s always a good idea to stand up and be proud of yourself! (begins at 1:30 p.m.)

Creation Station At this family-friendly workshop, share Lee Krasner’s inspirations as you create your own work of art. Immerse yourself in a world of shapes, patterns, calligraphy, and more while you construct a colorful collage using high-quality papers, newspapers written in several languages, and a variety of shapes.

Gallery Investigations Investigate Lee Krasner’s large, abstract painting Blue and Black with hands-on items, art puzzles, an Art Detectives case sheet, and more!

Sketching in the Galleries Sketch works of art in the MFAH collection of Modern art, including paintings by Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline, Lee Krasner, Mark Rothko, and Adolph Gottlieb.
