Law Building
1001 Bissonnet Map & Directions

This choreographers’ forum—held the day before the opening of the Dance Salad Festival at Wortham Center—offers a glimpse at the creative process of some of the festival’s invited choreographers from Europe: Christian Spuck from Germany; Pontus Lidberg from New York/Sweden; and Luigi Bonino, former principal assistant to legendary choreographer Roland Petit and custodian of Petit’s repertoire. The forum is moderated by dance critic Maggie Foyer.

This event is open to the public. Admission is free.
A reception to meet the panelists follows the program.

About the Panelists
Christian Spuck, one of the world’s most admired and sought-after choreographers, will become artistic director of the Zurich Ballet in August 2012. Pontus Lidberg, an internationally acclaimed Swedish choreographer and dancer, directed the award-winning 2007 dance film The Rain and is the 2012 resident artistic director of Morphoses Dance Company in New York. Luigi Bonino revived one of the most influential French postwar ballets, Le Jeune Homme et La Mort, created by the late Roland Petit, which will be performed at this year’s Dance Salad Festival. Bonino will show film clips of Petit’s work and share memories of the renowned choreographer. Moderator Maggie Foyer is a dance critic who writes for Dance Europe in London.
