Family Days take place on select Sundays throughout the year, with opportunities to explore and make art, see performances, hear stories, watch family-friendly films, and much more! All activities are free with general admission, free for MFAH Members, and free for ages 18 and younger with a Texas public library card.

Immerse your family in Ancient Treasures from Greece, Rome, and Egypt at the next MFAH Family Day on Sunday, February 5, 2012. Create your own pot using air dry clay inspired by amazing works of art on view from ancient Greece. Imagine everyday life in ancient Rome at an interactive, family-friendly presentation, explore Egyptian art at a hands-on Gallery Cart, discover Greek myths at Storytime, and sketch works of art in the MFAH Antiquities collection. Don’t miss an in-gallery performance of myth-inspired classical music by The Fidelis Quartet. Storybook Films at 1:30 p.m. will present animated versions of the storybooks I, Crocodile and Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears. At 2:30 p.m., the Reel Kids Film Night at the Museum starring Ben Stiller will delight families as the past comes to life! Pick up a fun take-home art project before you leave that will show you how to create your own Egyptian cartouche inspired by Ramses II.

(Please note: For access to the exhibition Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs, visitors must purchase a ticket.)
