MFAH Book Club Walk-in Tour “An Artist of the Floating World”

Saturday, Feb 25, 2012
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Beck Building
5601 Main Street Map & Directions

This spring, the MFAH Book Club looks at two civilizations that are worlds apart: ancient Egypt and post–World War II Japan. Both selections are concise and introspective, contemplating the roles of tradition and evolution in society, and the luster and tarnish of things past. After reading one or both, join us for a thematic and cross-cultural tour of specific works of art in the MFAH collections and exhibitions.

An Artist of the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro

If you have read An Artist of the Floating World, you are invited to participate in a guided tour featuring works in the MFAH’s highly anticipated new Arts of Japan Gallery, and expand into other areas of the museum’s collections.
